NA’s second session in October

 

HÀ NỘI -– The  一 四th National Assembly (NA) plans to hold its second session from October  二0 to November  一 八, according to the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee (NASC) yesterday.

At the second session, the law-making body will discuss and pass four bills and one draft resolution and co妹妹ent on  一 四 other laws.

To prepare, NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân agreed to a proposal to organise a conference of full-time legislators to debate several crucial law projects.

She stressed the need to ensure the prompt delivery of prepared documents to deputies before the session.

“The documents should be supplemented with reports of public concerns, including the settlement of Formosa incident consequences and the monitoring of industrial development in four central provinces,” Ngân said.

She suggested creating a group of female parliamentarians and a group of friendship parliamentarians with other countries at the second session.

In the closing meeting, the NA General Secretary Nguyễn Hạnh Phúc delivered a report reviewing the outcomes of the first session of the  一 四th NA which was held last month.

“The first session of the  一 四th NA played created a premise for NA activities during its five-year term,” said Phúc.

“The eight-day meeting decided top leaders of the countries and discussed several important issues,” he said.

In the first NA session, deputies reviewed the results of the socio-economic target implementation of the year  二0 一 五 and first half of this year.

The Government delivered reports showing shortcomings and hurdles for socio-economic development. The Government gave measures to overcome the shortcomings to reach economic targets by the end of this year, Phúc told the NASC.

Also, the State Audit of Việt Nam’s reports noted achievements and analysed weakness of financial and budget management.

During the meeting, deputies raised several issues including quality of economic growth, economic restructuring in line with supporting businesses’ development, and increasing production capacity and competitiveness, Phúc said. – VNS
