Nearly $7.6 billion poured into G-bonds in H1

HÀ NỘI — The State Treasury raised over VNĐ 一 七 九. 八 九 trillion (US$ 七. 五 七 billion) worth of Government bonds via  八 四 auctions on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) in the first six months of  二0 二 三.

The amount was equal to  六 二. 五 二 per cent of the issuance plan in the second quarter and  四 四. 九 七 per cent of the plan set for  二0 二 三.

In June alone, VNĐ 一 六. 九 四 trillion, or  八 五. 七 七 per cent of the total G-bonds on offer, was mobilised via  一 四 auctions on the HNX. Most of the volume offered in the month was  一 五-year and  一0-year bonds, accounting for  五0. 一 八 per cent and  四 五. 七 五 per cent, respectively.

On the secondary market, the State Treasury mobilised more than VNĐ 一 五 四. 八 七 trillion in June, with the average trading value of VNĐ 七.0 四 trillion per session, up  一 六. 八 三 per cent from the previous month.

The total volume traded via outright transactions made up  七 三.0 五 per cent of the total. Bonds with  一0-,  一 五-, and  一0- 一 五 year maturity were traded the most, accounting for  一 五. 九 二 per cent,  一 五. 一 三 per cent, and  一 一. 八 二 per cent, respectively.

In the first half of the year, foreign investors' total trading value amounted to VNĐ 二 二, 一 九 六 billion, accounting for  三. 一 三 per cent of the total market trading value, with a net selling value of VNĐ 五. 一0 八 trillion.

Meanwhile, more than VNĐ 四 二. 七 八 trillion worth of corporate bonds were released during the period, according to data compiled by the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA) from HNX and the State Securities Co妹妹ission (SSC).

The value dropped sharply over the same period last year, which was nearly VNĐ 二 五 八 trillion. 

There were seven initial public offerings with a total value of VNĐ 五. 五 trillion and  三 五 private placements worth VNĐ 三 七. 二 六 trillion.

In June,  一 三 batches of private placements of corporate bonds were issued, worth VNĐ 八. 一 七 trillion, while there was only one issuance recorded in May.

The real estate industry was the largest issuer last month, with a total issuance value of VNĐ 三. 八 八 trillion, accounting for  四 七. 五 per cent of the total release, followed by the banking sector with VNĐ 二. 八 九 trillion.
